And we're back! After a 3 week illness in the Swanson household & both of us taking end of summer vacations, August wasn't the greatest month for Jaime and I. We are back on track though. School is in session, routines have been set & Jaime & I are both focused on her fitness and weight loss. I think anyone who has been down this road would agree that's it's easier to stay on track than to get back on track. This is life though & things happen. I've seen a lot of people give up on the very first bump in the road. Not Jaime. She's back in her groove & ready to move forward. This is perseverance.

Posted a decent loss today despite being sick for the past week. So it has been a rough week to say the very least in terms of eating anything at all.... but still encouraging to know that I was able to not gain anything back!
I have been down and out for seven days now and today is the first day I woke up feeling almost back to my normal self. I am anxious to get back into the gym after this time off and that is something I never thought I would say.
My clothes are fitting so much better and when I am down 25 pounds total I am planning on a shopping spree! I am halfway there.... so that is encouragement for me to keep doing what I am doing and even step up the cardio so maybe I can catch in on some of those great Labor Day and back to school sales!
It is amazing how much eating organic has become a part of our life now....

Tomorrow marks two weeks since Alana came into my house and literally cleaned out my kitchen! First of all let me mention how unbelievably grateful I am to Alana for offering up this opportunity. I am more than thrilled that she chose me to embark on this journey with her.
One of the contingencies of being a part of this program with Alana is that we would have to make an effort to do clean eating. She wanted me to watch the documentary Food, Inc so that I was aware of what is going into our bodies. Friday night my husband Shawn and I sat down to watch the movie and we were BLOWN AWAY by what we saw. We had been eating organic meats for a ten days and I was so glad that I could say we will not be returning to our previous lifestyle anytime soon!
If you haven't seen the movie I HIGHLY recommend watching it. We had already been tossing around the idea of planting a vegetable garden, but this gave us the push in the right direction.
Saturday afternoon we planted a garden in our yard. We bought as many fruits and vegetables as we could find that would grow in our yard- eggplant, tomatoes, strawberries, peppers, celery and many more! We also planted several herbs that we can use while cooking.
A few photos of our new garden... will take better ones sometime this week~
